FitRight™
FitRight™ allows manufacturers to use a T-Shirt style sizing system for their entire bike line such that people in a certain height range (for example 5'3"-5'6") will always fit on a Small, whether it is a comfort bike, road bike or a mountainbike. It is a sizing system that can be used in the frame development process, on the sales floor and by the consumer.
How does it work?
The FitRight™ system is based on a database of bike fittings. Ardiano Design has teamed up with the people from Fit Kit (link to fitkit site)to provide a custom sizing system that is accurate and easy to understand. Fit Kit has been fitting cyclists to bicycles for more than 25 years and has collected thousands of data sets. We are using their database and have categorized all the measurements. With the help of this data it is possible to predict what the best average frame dimensions are for people in a certain size range. Dimensions such as Head Tube length, Top Tube length and Seat Angle can now be chosen with a guaranteed fit for 70% of the population.
- Height range can be chosen before frame design starts
- Women-specific frames can be designed with female fit data only
- Stem length can be chosen during the frame design process
- Crank length can be determined based on data
- Spacer stack can be determined based on data and intended use
- Number of sizes can be reduced
- Number of stem lengths can be reduced
